R-454B, With Built-In Leak Detection
American Standard moved its systems to R-454B, an A2L refrigerant with a global warming potential of 465 under EPA's reference table, compared with 2,088 for R-410A. Its R-454B indoor coils ship with a refrigerant detection system that shuts down the compressor and runs the indoor fan if it senses a leak.
